Thing 1 - my 4 year old daughter

Thing 2 - my infant son

This is a reference to 2 characters from The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss — if you don’t remember the book well, Thing 1 and Thing 2 are tiny, friendly, mischief-makers.  In our home dh and I actually call them Thing 1 and Thing 2 from time to time — we’re not being mean, they are terms of endearment.   

I think those are the only unique terms that might be unfamiliar on this blog, but I do use a few common chat/texting/email acronyms that a couple people asked about, so for reference:

dh - darling husband / dear husband

dd - darling daughter/ dear daughter

ds - darling son / dear son

btw - by the way

lol - laughing out loud

wtf - what the #!*&? (It’s a question - and often a good one.)

rotflwtime - rolling on the floor laughing with tears in my eyes

bff - best friend forever

imho - in my humble opinion
